Usher

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand; I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalms 84:10. The Greater Faith Usher Board consists of humble, dedicated servants willing to serve, make you feel welcome and "usher" you into the presence of God. We aim to serve the Lord Jesus, our church family and visitors with a pure heart, clean hands and a Godly attitude to those that we welcome into the sanctuary. The beauty of the Lord's house is its order, so it is the responsibility of the ushers to assist the Pastor in keeping good order and discipline in the household of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to fully come in and have his way.

Pastor's Aide

"Supporting the Vision of the Man of God" The Pastor's Aide is designed to provide a support system, for the Vision and Ministry that God gave to the Pastor. Pastor Marcel Miles teaches, ministers and encourages four important principles that The Pastor's Aide fully support:

1) Salvation - "Ye must be born again"

2) Faith - "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen" and "Without faith it is impossible to please God".

3) Love - "No greater love than this that a man would lay down his life for a friend". Also, "hat we love the Lord thy God with all our hearts, mind and souls and have love one for another".

4) Family - Pastor Miles instructs on the structure of "The Family" with the husband as the head of the household under the leadership and direction of the Holy Ghost. Better homes make better Churches. "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" In View of The Pastor's Vision and Missionary, The Pastor's Aide organizes events and activities to support The Pastor.

Activities: Prayer for The Ministry - every Friday evening Marriage Retreat Seminar Pastor's Aide Program - Supporting the Vision of The Man of God Dinner with The Pastor - this is a time where members or potential members can meet in a relax atmosphere to talk with the Pastor. Every 4th Sunday of the month directly after service there will be a dinner or scheduled off-site activity. Pastor' Anniversary - A time for Greater Faith to Honor The Man and Woman of God in a Joyous Celebration.

Women's Department

The Women's Department plays a very active role in Greater Faith Church. The women support all the auxiliaries and committees in the church. The Women's Department meets the last Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Greater Faith Family Center. We discuss topics that are relevant to women and family living. These discussions are based on scripture and promote spiritual growth. We also fellowship by going out to dinner or meeting at a sister's home for dinner. In this way we have formed a strong bond of love and unity. The Women's department also sponsors annual programs such as, a Battle Conference, 'Women in Red', "Friends and Family Day", and a Women's conference. Our last conference was very dynamic. The theme for the conference was "Empowered Women of Purpose" Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth". There was a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The speakers were anointed women of God from Greater Faith Church as well as invited speakers. One of the topics was directed toward single women. We are concerned about all women staying encouraged and equipped for facing life's problems. Greater Faith women have taken their place, as God has empowered us to fulfill his purpose and we encourage all women to join with us in helping to build the kingdom of God

Men's Department

THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD..... PSALMS 37:23a God has placed man in the position of leadership, and the Men's department of Greater Faith Church exemplifies this as leaders in the church. The Men's department conducts Sunday School classe known as "Commited Men" This gathering of men has been very uplifting for the brethren. There are a variety of topics discussed and the rejoicing that comes as a result of the revelations from god promises an ultimate spiritual experience. The Men's department holds an annual men's day program and also host a boy' retreat...where we come together with our young boys, counseling and leading them in the way of the Lord. The Bible says "how good it is for brethren to dwell together in unity". We invite you to come unite with us and allow the holy spirit to unite our hearts together in the love of Christ.

Youth Department

The Greater Faith Youth department is an active group of young people on the move for Christ. They are an important part of our church and our goal is to help youth build a lifelong personal relationship with Jesus Christ by, "Training them up in the way that they should go; and when they are old they will not depart." (Prov. 22:6). We educate our youth through Bible study, Sunday School, and Children's Church. This motivates and inspires them to know and do the will of God. The Youth department put on several events this year. There were Christmas, Easter, and Black History plays, and a Young Men & Young Ladies Retreat. They also had youth trips to amusement parks and skating rinks. The Greater Faith Youth are on the move, reaching, teaching and winning souls for Christ.

Sunday School Department

MATTHEW 28:19a For the ultimate Bible learning experience, come join the Greater Faith Church Sunday School. Our Sunday School begins at 9:30am every Sunday morning, and we offer classes for all ages. Each class is taught by Christian teachers who have been "seasoned" with the word of God. We invite you to come and be a part of Sunday School where the name of Jesus is on everyone's lips, and the love of Jesus is in everyone's heart.

Choir

The "Voices of Faith" Choir lifts up the name of Jesus through music and song. We believe that ministering with our voices has the power to touch, save and deliver any willing heart and mind. We sponsor annual concerts and musicals that feature our choir and local musicians. We also host various fundraisers that include revivals, dinners, and special programs to support the ministry. The "Voices of Faith" Choir welcomes any voice that would like to be a part of our music ministry. We meet every Monday at 7:00 for rehearsal.

Outreach Ministry

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are the house hold of faith. Galatians 6:10. "Service with a Purpose" is the mission of The Greater Faith Outreach Ministry. This ministry is essential in reaching beyond the church walls to spread the love of Jesus Christ, while ministering the uncompromised Word of God. The Outreach Ministry proclaims in word and deed the good news that Jesus Christ came and died for the sins of the world, rose victorious over death, and transforms lives by the power of His Spirit. We currently visit the nursing home twice per month to fellowship with the sick and shut in. "Missing in Action" is our newest endeavor, which reaches out to our brothers and sisters in Christ whom we have not seen consistently in our weekly church services. The Outreach Ministry is encouraged and looking for God to enlarge our territory to the surrounding neighborhoods as well as to thoose that are incarcerated.

Singles Ministry

The Greater Faith Single Ministry is a vital part of the church. We are consecrated and committed to being an example in the body of Christ. We feel that it is important to keep each other encouraged in the Lord. GFC singles have a great time in our monthly brother/sister fellowship. We are blessed both naturally and spiritually. Our singles ministry is focused on doing the will of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ rather than our own will. GFC Singles count it a blessing to live a life pleasing to the Lord. Colossians 3:2,3 says "Set your affections on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth for you have died (to the flesh) and your life is hidden with Christ in God"

Marriage and More

Marriage and More is a ministry designed to spiritually equip God's people with the tools they need to build healthy marriages and relationships the way God intended. T hew Marriage and More ministry is also geared towards giving God's people insight towards communication, rearing children, choosing a mate, and various challenges we are faced with on our "Christian Journey".
